About
Our Mission
Our Mission is to create an environment where people can connect with God and THRIVE in their relationship with Him.
Our Values
We are motivated by love
Love is our reason. Love is our fuel.
Not guilt. Not hype. Not pressure.
We serve because He first loved us. We fight darkness because we love people. We speak the truth because we love people.
Everything we do—every risk we take, every prayer we pray, every act of service—it all flows from love.
We are a battleship not a cruiseship
Too many Christians are living like tourists instead of soldiers. The scriptures teach over and over that there is a spiritual war taking place all around us. Our mission is not to cater to the religious preferences of lukewarm Christians, but instead to free captives and participate in God’s mission to rid the world of darkness.
We don’t worship the Bible, we live the Bible
The Bible is far more than a collection of teachings and stories that we study and memorize. It’s the inspired revelation of God to man. The written word reveals the living Word. God continues to work in the world today and we’re invited to participate.
Faith is spelled R-I-S-K
Faith should cost us something. Following Jesus is a lot of things, but it’s not safe. We are the type of community that is willing to risk for the cause of the kingdom.
We are welcoming but not affirminG
At ThriveAustin, everyone is welcome. The invitation of Christ is wide, and nobody is excluded. However, we will not affirm lifestyles and behaviors that are contrary to the moral ethic established in scripture.
We are PRESENCE-DRIVEN driven not PROGRAM-DRIVEN
Our services are for God. Not to entertain people. When we worship, it’s to please God, not people. When we preach, it’s to call sinners to repentance and believers to maturity. We believe that our gatherings should carry a level of unpredictability. While each gathering may share similar elements, there is space for God to interrupt our plans.
Our Vision
Our Vision is to transform the I-35 corridor with the power of the Gospel. We want to plant and grow Vineyard churches in Austin, the Austin metroplex, and around the world.
